Euthanasia is eligible for coverage under our Illness and Injury plan as long as the condition it is recommended for is eligible for coverage and when it's deemed necessary by the vet for humane reasons.
Cremation and burial costs are not covered.

Euthanasia due to an accident (Coverage provided with the base policy)
Euthanasia deemed necessary for humane reasons, plus cremation costs, when Medically Necessary and incurred as the result of a covered Accident. Must be performed by a Veterinarian or their staff under direct supervision. Max $1,000 per Policy Period for euthanasia procedures.
The accident only base policy does not provide coverage for Euthanasia due to an illness.
Euthanasia due to an illness (Provided with purchase of illness coverage)
Euthanasia deemed necessary for humane reasons, plus cremation costs, when Medically Necessary and incurred as the result of a covered Accident. Must be performed by a Veterinarian or their staff under direct supervision. Max $1,000 per Policy Period for euthanasia procedures. The illness must itself be covered (Not pre-existing and waiting periods fully satisfied).
