Only available for Policies serviced by Odie Pet Insurance.
If you’d like to have your pet’s waiting periods waived, you’ll need to complete a Certified Medical Examination (CME) before your policy becomes active. Follow the steps below to make sure everything is processed correctly.
1. Request the Certified Medical Examination Form
Request a Certified Medical Examination Form from Nibbles.
It’s important to request the form early so we have enough time to email it to you, and your vet has enough time to complete it before your policy starts.
2. Schedule and Complete the Exam
Have your pet examined by a licensed veterinarian and have the veterinarian complete the Certified Medical Examination document within the required timeframe:
All states: within 24 hours prior to your policy’s effective date
Florida: within 7 days prior to your policy’s effective date
3. What the Exam Must Show
For the CME to qualify:
Your pet must show no signs or symptoms of illness, injury, or cruciate ligament issues (CLE).
The veterinarian must note that all systems are within normal limits on the form.
4. Submit the Completed Form
Once the exam is complete, email the signed Certified Medical Examination Form to support@nibbles.com.
Nibbles will review it
5. Waiting Period Updates
After the CME is verified:
Nibbles will upload a Waiver of Waiting Periods to your pet’s documents area in your dashboard and notify you once it’s available.
Important Notes
Injury and Illness Waiting Periods: These can be waived if your pet is healthy and the vet confirms all systems are within normal limits.
Florida policies: Accident/injury waiting periods cannot be waived. However, waiting periods for illness and cruciate conditions may be waived if your pet meets the health requirements above.
