Annual Policy Limit: The maximum amount your policy will pay in any Annual term — the most your pet insurance company will reimburse you for covered losses within one year. The amount depends on your individual plan.
How Annual Limits Work
Say your annual limit is $10,000 and your pet's eligible claims total $15,000 for the year. Your insurer will reimburse you a maximum of $10,000; you're responsible for the remaining $5,000 until your policy renews.
How Annual Limits Are Calculated
Your Annual Policy Limit and deductible are calculated by adding 12 months to your Policy Effective Date, which sets your Policy Renewal Date — shown on your declaration page.
These amounts apply on a year-to-year basis: from your Policy Effective Date to your Policy Renewal Date, then from each Policy Renewal Date to the next. Your Annual Policy Limit and deductible reset to the amounts on your declaration page after each Policy Renewal Date.
Is the Annual Limit Per Pet or Per Family?
The annual limit applies per policy, per pet — not shared across all the pets in your household.
