The fastest and easiest way to submit a claim is through your online account.
Automatic Claims (Using Your Nibbles Card)
If you pay with your Nibbles Card at the vet, we can handle most of the process for you:
- We detect the visit and automatically begin the claims process.
- You'll get a quick email or text asking if you'd like us to file the claim for you, just reply to get things started.
- If you say yes, we contact the vet to gather the visit details and itemized receipt, then submit the claim on your behalf.
If we need more information, or can't get records from the vet, we'll follow up with you directly.
Didn't pay with your Nibbles Card, or want to submit a claim yourself? Follow the steps below.
Submitting a Claim Yourself
It is a crime to knowingly provide false, incomplete, or misleading information to an insurance company for the purpose of defrauding the company. Penalties may include imprisonment, fines, and/or denial of insurance benefits.
Step 1: Gather Your Documents
To help us process your claim quickly, you'll need:
- Itemized, legible veterinary invoice(s)
- Proof of payment
- Detailed medical notes, diagnosis, lab results, and other records
We can't process a claim without your pet's medical records. If this is your first claim for your pet, ask your veterinary hospital to include a copy of your pet's complete medical history with doctor's exam notes and any lab results.
Submit Your Pet's Medical History Early
Submitting your pet's vet records before you file your first claim helps us process claims quickly and accurately. It confirms your pet is up-to-date on routine wellness exams and helps prevent claim denials based on assumed pre-existing conditions. Learn more here.
Step 2: Submit Your Claim
The fastest and easiest way to submit your claim is through the Nibbles account:
- Sign into your Nibbles account.
- Select "Create Claim" from the menu.
- Complete the questionnaire and upload copies of your documents (medical records and paid invoice).
- You're all set, you'll see your new claim with a status of "Submitted."
Step 3: The Insurance Provider will Process Your Claim
An adjuster reviews your claim. They typically process claims within 30 business days; first-time claims may take a bit longer, depending on when we receive your pet's medical records.
If you run into any issues, contact us and we'll help with your claim.
